Yay! This book is just as good as the others in the series and I could not be more happy that I jumped into it. I had SUCH a hangover from VI and Ryn's conclusion hat this was the perfect remedy. MORE Creepy Hollow! Okay. I don't know about you, but after our brief introduction to Calla in TFP I was itching to know more about her and her ability. I knew that if it was anything like VI and Ryn that it was going to be GREAT. It was. Rachel delivered YET AGAIN with a series that we can instantly fall in love with. Calla is a bit different though because the world she is growing up in is NOT the world that VI and Ryn did. This is the post-war world. A world where abilities are feared and kept track of. Well, unless you are Calla and no now knows you have one. Calla is determined to make a difference. She wants to be a guardian and if she can't do it through the proper channels, she will do it however she can. She just wants to do what she believes she is meant to. After a series of not so great events, Calla gets her wish and is entered into the Guardian program. She busts her butt to make it happen and to keep her abilities secret at the same time. Throw in a mystery man and some chaos and we have the makings for another fun Guardian book. I feel like this book just May be the best redemption book I have ever read. It was exhilarating and had everything I wanted in a second trilogy to a series. It kept the story rolling but wasn't too smilier to its predecessors.

Synopsis:

Calla Larkenwood wants nothing more than to be a guardian, but her overprotective mother has never allowed it. When circumstances change and Calla finally gets to join a Guild, she discovers guardian trainee life isn’t all she hoped it would be. Her classmates are distant, her mentor hates her, and keeping her Griffin Ability a secret is harder than she thought. Then an initiation game goes wrong, landing Calla with a magical ability she can’t control. She needs help—and the only way she can get it is by bargaining with the guy who just discovered her biggest secret. Join beloved characters and new heroes as the bestselling Creepy Hollow series continues.
