MadameX

5 Stars|Amazon|Goodreads

This is by far Jasinda's best work yet. A mystery filled novel that had me entranced and intrigued from cover to cover. Madame X is a work of art. Half the book you spend enthralled in what is happening while the other half you spend crafting theories on the many questions you are left with chapter after chapter. Madame X turns boys into men. She breaks them down and shapes them back up without ever laying a hand on them. She is an artist. But she is also a slave in her own world. A slave to this life even in the times it feels perfect. With the each page I wanted to know more about X. She was a force to be reckoned with, yet in other moment she was meek. A shadow. It was a conundrum that I wanted to piece together. I wanted the back story. I wanted the shadows brought to light. It where is the fun in that. When a chance encounter really threw things into gear this book went from highly intriguing to a downright addiction. I felt like I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. These are by far Jasinda's most complex characters yet. With each chapter we see not only a new side of X, but all those around her. By the end of this book not only was I left gasping, I also had a clear picture of this world and I was ready to dive in even more. Hand down a best read of 2015. I cannot wait to see where book two takes us!

Synopsis:

Madame X invites you to test the limits of control in this provocative new novel from New York Times bestselling author Jasinda Wilder. My name is Madame X. I’m the best at what I do. And you’d do well to follow my rules... Hired to transform the uncultured, inept sons of the wealthy and powerful into decisive, confident men, Madame X is a master of the art of control. With a single glance she can cut you down to nothing, or make you feel like a king. But there is only one man who can claim her body—and her soul. Undone time and again by his exquisite dominance, X craves and fears his desire in equal measure. And while she longs for a different path, X has never known anything or anyone else—until now...
