I REALLY enjoyed jumping into a new series from Yasmine. I am a big fan of her other novels so I was very excited to receive a copy of this for review. Stellar doesn't even begin to cover it. Yasmine crafts her novels in a completely unique way. You build up to the story bit by bit rather then being thrown in head first. You learn about the character, the world, everything you need to know to see it as a movie. It is a really fun way of getting lost in the characters. Kerris doesn't exactly have things easy. Her job in life is to banish spirits back to the grave. After years of denying this ate for herself, life forces he to jump in and take her role up. With her old comes a guardian. Enter Bryan. He is a shifter who's job is to protect Kerris. Throw in a hefty does of swoon, with some alpha hotness, and this supportive and sexy man really makes the novel. This novel is packed full. Once we got into the story it was non stop. I wish I had the second in the series because I am HOOKED. It was a captivating and exhilarating read. Autumn Thorns was a one sitting read. I adored each character and the story line has a ton of potential.

Synopsis:

In an all-new series, New York Times bestselling author Yasmine Galenorn invites readers to Whisper Hollow, where spirits walk among the living and the lake never gives up her dead… Fifteen years ago, I ran away from Whisper Hollow, Washington, a small town on Crescent Lake in the Olympic Peninsula. But truth is, if you were born here, you can never really leave. I’m Kerris Fellwater, and when I returned, I inherited my grandmother’s house—and her gift. As a spirit shaman, it’s my responsibility to drive the dead back to their graves, because around Whisper Hollow, people—and secrets—don’t always stay buried. When I was little, I was told my mother ran off. But now it looks like she was murdered. With the help of my mysterious neighbor Bryan, we begin to unravel the mystery of her disappearance, and in doing so, unearth a dark force seeking to bury Whisper Hollow. Now I must work with the dead, rather than against them, because our enemy will do whatever she can to destroy the town, and she means to start with me.
