I really enjoyed this novel. There was a lot os hype about it when it first release, and I won't say I wasn't doubtful. Sometimes I think people get caught up int he hype and just say they love a book because everyone else does. I went into this book with that in mind, and it still was a fantastic read. This is one of those rare gems that deserves all its hype.
I was in love with Cassie from the very first page. Her character and dialogue hooked me off the bat.The minute Ethan was thrown into the mix I was definitely interested. I wanted to know where the story was going and I was in it for the long ride.

The chemistry between Cassie and Ethan was palpable from the first page of them meeting. Even though they began in an interesting way, Cassie and Ethan really had no choice but to be something to each other. Friends, dating, colleges, they are a mix of the three and really don't have a definition. All we know is that it is something. One the casting for their play is announced, they know that nothing will be the same.
"We should avoid the train wreck we'd no doubt make of each other. Keep our distance and try not to become obsessed. Except, I'm afraid I already am."
Flashforward to the present. We know EXACTLY what Cassie and Ethan are here, they are nothing more than co-workers on a play. If Cassie had her way, they wouldn't even be that. All Ethan wants is some of her time. Time to explain why he did what he did and to make amends.
"I hate that he can still make me feel like this. That with one kiss, he can demolish every single defense mechanism I've ever had against him."
This story bounces back and forth from the present to the past when Ethan and Cassie first met. It slowly shows you the back story, while torturing you with the little bits of the present. It was a genius way to write the novel and it definitely hooks you. Lisa has a way with words that draw you in and hook you. I will definitely be reading her other works in the future!
