You think I would learn my lessons reading NS books, but they always get me. I KNOW they are going to make me cry, and when they do I want to smack myself for not seeing it coming,
Throw in some mystery and romance with all the FEELS and this was a book I was HOOKED on. I couldn't get enough of it. I love a story that not only has the past twisted in, but hope of the future. It always leaves me with a full feeling at the end. This novel came full circle or me. It had all the aspects of the characters I wanted to see and not only did it have its pain plot, it had FANTASTIC side stories throughout it.
A little slow paced through out the novel, but a story that I fell in love with in the end. Thrilling and fun.
Synopsis:
Miles Ryan's life seemed to end the day his wife was killed in a hit-and-run accident two years ago. As deputy sheriff of New Bern, North Carolina, he not only grieves for her and worries about their young son Jonah but longs to bring the unknown driver to justice. Then Miles meets Sarah Andrews, Jonah's second-grade teacher. A young woman recovering from a difficult divorce, Sarah moved to New Bern hoping to start over.
