Another great novel in this highly original paranormal series! I can't seem to get enough!
This novel is all about the magic. Well, and vampires. And new matings. And new factions. Oh, and least we forget a demon lord or two. This novel was non stop from start to finish.
With the kidnapping at the end of the earlier book, you know this book is going to start with a bang. It is really chaos from that part on. Jessica and her band of misfits are attacked and sent on the run. Well, on the run is an understatement. Finally arriving on the vampire Queens doorstep they are hoping that they can turn the tables and get protection without making a bargain they will soon regret.
There was definitely some swoon worthy parts of this book, but mostly is was action from start to finish. Jessica really start coming into herself and finding out more and more about what being the only female wolf really means. She is an anomaly for a reason and with that comes big changes.
If you have read this far into the series then you are as hooked as I am. This novel doesn't leave you wanting anything but MORE. The characters are fantastic and the dialogue in this book is greatly improved from the first novel. I feel like we are a lot less is Jessica's head and more is done conversing with others to tell us the information we need to know. I can't wait to jump into the next novel, because this one leaves us with a BANG.
Synopsis:
Jessica arrives back in town to find her best friend missing and the most powerful witch in the country is blaming her for it. But before they can move to save her, the group is attacked.
On the run, Jessica and Rourke head to the mountains. Several surprises await them, but in order to save her father they are forced to leave for New Orleans early. Arriving on the Vampire Queen's doorstep unexpectedly, and bringing trouble on their heels, the Sects are thrown into an all out war. The vicious skirmish ends up forcing the vamps and Jessica to fight on the same team.
The Vamp Queen ends up owing Jessica, but what Jessica doesn't realize is just how soon she'll have to cash it in...
