Collide by Gail McHugh

4 Stars

So you have more than likely noticed I tend to give things 5 stars pretty much off the bat. Well they are all deserved to get over it. :) This book got 4 stars because I thought the story was a little rough and could have used a little work with the chapter structure. (Look at me using big literary type words, you'd think I was actually educated!) But really it was awesome. It had my attention from cover to cover like usual. Gail McHugh is an amazing writer and this story is a perfect example of that. I cannot wait for the second since it ended in a cliffhanger that definitely had me wanting for more.

Meg's Reivew:

Meet Emily Cooper. Her life has had some recent drastic changes, and its debatable if any of them have been good. Even her most recent. Just after graduating college while dealing with the recent passing of her mother Emily moves to the Big Apple with her long time boyfriend Dillon Parker. Dillon has been a staple in her life. Aiding her in flying back and forth to care for her mother, comforting her, and standing by her during this loss. He seems like a pretty stand up guy. ( I warn you now before you swoon, HE IS NOT!) But, alas she is moving to NYC to be with him. Almost. She's going to room with her friend form college because for some reason she just isn't ready for him.

Upon arriving to NYC Emily is looking for a job teaching and getting used to the City while at her new job. Enter Gavin Blake.

Gavin in quite the looker and right from the start has a way with Emily. She cannot seem to get him out of her head. (Though really I can't seem to even guess why) There is just something about him. But Emily has a boyfriend that she loved and thats that.

Or Not.

Its not BTW. Gavin cannot get Emily out of his head either and isn't giving up.

ENTER the problems. Turns out Gavin and Dillon kinda know each other. Emily and Gavin keep their previous encounters to themselves and agree to be friends. Despite this fate is not allowing for them not to have the astounding chemistry they have. Gavin and Emily's personalities just blend perfectly. Some of their conversations, or even just the situations themselves were hilarious on their own when they weren't completely and utterly romantic. Though I have to say my favorite of this book is the special game they share. Damn Caps.

Emily makes some huge decisions and they have huge impacts. But good ones. Most of the time. Us girls can be KINDA stone headed sometimes.

I fell in love with these characters from the beginning. They were interesting and the story itself was a great twist. a very WHAT IF type of book. I Loved it. Emily needed to find her self, and find what she really wanted and deserved to have. She needed to make decisions ( and boy was it infuriating some of the ones she made). Emily has a great friend and sometimes she needs to listen a little better, but in the end she didn't let me down. Or, well I hope she didn't. As I said. Cliffhanger! Emily needs to find her confidence and her self worth. She deserves better.

SO go check out the book. Its great and is a very interesting read.

A missed first encounter.....

Colliding with a second chance.....

On the heels of graduating college and trying to cope with her mother's death, Emily Cooper moves to New York City for a fresh start.

While harboring secrets of his own, Dillon Parker takes care of Emily through her grief. Knowing he can't live without her by his side, he's sweet, thoughtful, and everything Emily has ever wanted in a man.

Until she meets Gavin Blake-a rich and notorious playboy who is dangerously sexy and charming as hell. Emily tries to deny the instant connection she feels, but Mr. Tall, Dark, and Handsome is not inclined to let go so easily. Recovering from his own painful past, Gavin will stop at nothing to win Emily over.

This unexpected encounter compels Emily to question her decisions, forcing her to make a choice that will destroy friendships, shatter hearts, and forever change her life.
