I really enjoyed the first book in this series with its not so happy ending, and the second installment was just as good. It kept attention and was another great journey of healing for Adam. Well, that ad really finding himself.
Adam changes quite a lot in this book. Dealing with Katie's Death and all that came with it, even if he didn't know why, changed him. Jada. I really enjoyed her all around as a character. With such a troubled past, just like Ada, she was still strong and wanted to find love. But yet with that she was still so very broken. She reminded me of Katie quite a lot. When Jada and Adam began their journey I really liked her with him. Even fi they were hot and cold I still felt something with them and am crossing my fingers for what I think is going to happen next.
This book leaves you wanting just as the first, not the writing or even the story, More. It leaves you wanting More. The book flows very well and keeps your attention while reading. Faith is a fantastic writer and you immerse in the characters while you read. The back and forth really gives you a spectrum view on the storyline. Its my favorite part about these books aside from the story itself. The flow is fantastic.
Loved it twice as much as the first. I feel as though we are finally breaking through with getting to really know the characters and I look forward to what comes next.
Adam is through with love.
He unravels blaming himself for what happened with Katie.
His final moments with her echo through his nightmares.
She owns him body and soul.
To dull the pain, Adam invites a string of women into his bed. Fueled by alcohol and desperation, his meaningless hook-ups provide little comfort. When he closes his eyes, it's Katie he sees.
The only one who helps to ease his guilt somewhat is Jada. But as his new ambulance partner, Adam considers her off limits. He doesn't want to get seriously involved with anyone, much less her. Yet he can't stop fantasizing about the feel of her caramel skin against his.
Despite his intentions, Adam's bond with Jada deepens as they respond to a series of emotional calls. Their mutual attraction becomes undeniable. But how can he give his heart to Jada when it still belongs to Katie?
