My Review:
I was super stoked for this book to come out, and was not let down in reading it. I do still prefer the first storyline wise, but I felt the second brought the story full circle and left me with content and happy thoughts. I felt it was a great compelling read.
We pick up right after book one. Peter and Sidney have had their bumps and Peter throws another at sidney. Not I really thought she acted like a child with dealing with it, but I am glad with how Peter handled himself in the following chapters. It was a nice back and forth to read about. I suppose I sided with Peter's character as I liked him so much, but it was also that he held her on such a pedestal that all his actions were with her in mind. Such a gentleman.
We also get to really know Peters Family. I thought this gave me a nice view into the background and really added to the story. Unlike other readers I haven't read any of the others series that connect with this book so I felt this was a crucial thing for me. Twisted is definitely one way to describe that family and I cannot wait to dive into the other characters stories. Ok so back to dear Peter and Sidney.
So as the story unfolds we get to really experience some things with Sidney that also help you to understand her actions better. I felt by the mid-end of the book I really had an idea of why she has done what she has. Not her family's actions on the other hand UNacceptable. Completely and utterly. I will honestly say I thought her mom was a complete tool for her actions, as was the brother. Trust me, you will see when you read it. And our illusive asshat of an Ex. Well lets leave you with the fact that he plays a big part in the ending, but Sidney does get her peace.
The ending has a lot going on, as you will read in other reviews as well, so take you time with it. I found myself re-reading a few parts to grasp what had happened, but I was content with the ending. I felt questions were answered and we had a nice open ending that we could get more from later.
I did read that I should have read the other series before this one, but I had no trouble with this series on its own. I am Intrigued by Sean so I will be starting that ASAP :) So Happy Reading My Novel Friends!
