I have to say this might be Brooke's best work yet. This novel had me on my toes from start to finish. I am typically not a huge fan of cheating (is anyone?), but sometimes I feel like you need to look at the whole picture. This novel REALLY makes you do that. You questions your morals on the situations in the book and have to really fight with yourself for what you think you want. Loved it. Absolutely loved it.
Sometimes one night is all it takes. I know that sounds cliche, but have you ever grabbed a book and read just ONE page before you got hooked? Me too. All it took was that one page, one meeting, one night and they both knew that something had changed. Something shifted in the universe and fate decided it was time to come out and play.

I can't give you much on this book. I feel like every time I go to write a sentence it is a major spoiler. This novel was a HOT, quick, and gratifying read. It was a one shot HEA (Well, in MY opinion) that fulfilled all my unanswered questions in a fantastically wrapped package.
"But soon, I found lines would be crossed, boundaries would be broken, and things were never as they seemed int he first place."
In its entirety, this novel is a love story. It is a story about fighting for what you want and not letting up until you get it. A true love story.
"Before I could move, or even respond, he had both of his hands on my face pressing his lips to mine. My body gave in, syncing my lips with his, moving in rhythm as we let the kiss say what we were thinking."
I felt like Brooke really came into her own with this novel. It was something very different from her and she shined. The book skirted the edge of right and wrong, and had your moral compass on the fritz. It was a work of art and a novel I won't soon be forgetting. You don't want to miss this. It is a real doozy.
Synopsis:
One night was all it took...
One night to ruin everything I thought I knew.
From the outside, I had the perfect lifestyle.
Wealthy fiancé, blossoming career, amazing friends.
I wasn’t looking to get married yet, but when William—“Manhattan’s royalty”—charmed his way into my life, I couldn’t deny the security and comfort that overcame me.
To society, I was the girl only after his money. I was the party-goer who managed to seduce a man twice my age to have the lifestyle some could only dream of. I was every magazine’s cliché of what a gold-digging whore was.
I wanted to prove them wrong—that our love was real and that I wasn’t that girl.
But then everything changed.
One wrong decision. One unfaithful night. One haunting reality.
Perhaps they were right.
The media didn’t see it coming... and neither did I.
This is a stand alone romance suspense novel with no cliffhanger. HEA depends on who you ask. Recommended for readers 18 and up due to strong language and explicit sexual content.
