Darkest Sunrise by Aly Martinez

I can't even find the words for this book.
I have not been this completely devastated and emotional beaten reading a book in a long while.
Aly ROCKED me. She took this story and engraved it word by word into my heart.
These characters live in the darkness when they both deserve so much to be in the light. This story was an emotional roller coaster that ending with a bang. I can't wait for the second part to be release THANKFULLY, in two weeks. I don't think I could last longer. This is a story about healing form unimaginable hurt. A story about living even when you don't want to. Letting yourself truly live in the moment and be happy even when you don't think yo deserve it. Even when you can't stand it.
This is hands down, one of the best books I have read this year. Not only does it have absolutely amazing characters, but a devastatingly perfect plot. The writing is top notch and you truly become so engrossed in the book that you will find yourself crying. I warned you. This is that warning. It is that good.

Synopsis:
Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me. Whoever coined that phrase is a bald-faced liar. Words are often the sharpest weapon of all, triggering some of the most powerful emotions a human can experience. “You’re pregnant.” “It’s a boy.” “Your son needs a heart transplant.” Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me. Lies. Syllables and letters may not be tangible, but they can still destroy your entire life faster than a bullet from a gun. Two words—that was all it took to extinguish the sun from my sky. “He’s gone.” For ten years, the darkness consumed me. In the end, it was four deep, gravelly words that gave me hope of another sunrise. “Hi. I’m Porter Reese.”
