Favorite Quote: "All in all, it was a typical mob morning... a little bit of violence, some sexual tension, some laughter, and a loud wakeup call."
Each new novel I read in this series has me falling deeper in love with this world. The world of the mafia. The world of the Eagle Elite. I have been waiting for this story for a while and was over the mood to receive an ARC of it for the Blog Tour. Sergio and Andi's story might be my new hands down favorite.
This novel grips you from he first page to the very last world. If you can't read it in one sitting prepare to have it constantly on your mind during the down times. A mafia story with the romanic and humor ridden twists we have come to love, with a heartbreaking realization that a tragic end is coming from the very beginning.
"And I would, most definitely, lose my heart, to a dying girl---a girl who by all accounts should have never been mine in the first place."
Sometimes a blurb just gives you an idea about a story. Sometimes it tells you WAY too much about the book. Sometimes though, sometimes it warns you that the book is going to break your heart and you just I'm head first knowing that it will be worth every tear you know you will shed. This novel was like that. The line above from the synopsis was your warning. It was telling you to prepare yourself because this roller coaster may be filled with attempted murder, mafia dealings, reckless elite shenanigans, and our typical drama. But it was also filled with heartbreak.

Sergio has been in the shadows most of the series. He doesn't have a choice now and is forced to really join the party. His shells has cracks and Andi is the perfect person to break down the walls and let the real Sergio shine. While the same can be true for her. She may think she is ready for what the future holds, but she has no idea what effect Sergio will have on her. Sometimes it is the little things we don't see coming.
Rachel dazzles in this book. The fluidity of her writing is evident in the way the mood can change at the drop of a word. Each chapter has you on your toes, and even though there are a few story lines going on simultaneously during the book, you aren't confused or overwhelmed at all. The suspenseful parts grip you and the emotional parts have you in shambles.
This book leaves you on your toes for book seven and we are going to be in for a wild ride.
Synopsis:
The sixth book in the internationally bestselling Eagle Elite Series.
*Interconnected Stand Alone*
Twenty-Four hours before we were to be married--I offered to shoot her.
Ten hours before our wedding--I made a mockery of her dying wish.
Five hours before we were going to say our vows--I promised I'd never love her.
One hour before I said I do--I vowed I'd never shed a tear over her death.
But the minute we were pronounced man and wife--I knew.
I'd only use my gun to protect her.
I'd give my life for hers.
I'd cry.
And I would, most definitely, lose my heart, to a dying girl---a girl who by all accounts should have never been mine in the first place.
I always believed the mafia would be my end game--where I'd lose my heart, while it claimed my soul. I could have never imagined. It would be my redemption.
Or the beginning of something beautiful.
The beginning of her.
The end of us.
