If I had to pick just one (Which is nearly impossible) my favorite YA book would have to be..
Before I die by Jenny Downham

Not my normal type of book either. I didn't used to read as much as I do now. I mean I always had my head in a book but it wasn't a book a day like my habit is now. In high school I read far less, but still spent a good deal of my time curled up in our library reading. I found this book one day on the recommended shelf and thought it looked interesting. I started the book and could not put it down. I skipped two classes that day and my lunch to sit in the library and read. We had an awesome librarian and for some reason she let me do this. I cried through half the book. Its very emotional and very powerful. I wanted to much to have the decisiveness that the main character has and to have such an idea of the things I wanted to accomplish. At this point in school I had no idea.
After finishing this book I couldn't seem to get enough with reading and haven't stopped since. I travel the world in my books. I Live a thousand lives and fall in love over and over again with every new book I read.
Do you have a book thats done that for you? Made you look at your life and think, "Where do I go from here?", I have and this was that book for me. So Check it out. Its a great read.
