My Review:
This book was very gripping. I felt compelled to finish after reading the prologe. It sucked me in. I enjoyed the characters from the beginning and really just could wait to see where the story went. Clay and Maggie definitely had their challenges. Well, HAVE their challenges. The story follows them as Maggie tries to save Clay in her own way.
The story was very Real. This felt like something that could be based in reality and not fiction. The reactions, the situations, the way it played out, every aspect of it. This felt like how any normal 17 year old couple would deal with this situation. Denial, false hope, jaded expectations, and the knowledge that their love will fix all. The author definitely did the research and it showed.
Maggie. She drove me crazy when i wasn't totally enamored with her as a character, but then what good heroine doesn't. I suppose she just really irritated me with the ignorance in some situations to be honest. (Another reason why this felt real) I wanted to much to scream at her to get Clay what he needed and to stop being so jaded. They were in love and it was wonderful but all the complications that they endured were so unhealthy. It was a catch 22 story.
I am interested to see where the story goes in the next book as this book had a very open ending.
The story was wonderfully written. Its very emotional and raw. You feel for the troubles that Clay endures as well as Maggie. The chapters were gripping and the story had just enough plot in it. I felt that it wasn't overly complicated and was easy to follow and read. It doesn't read like a book that expects you to have knowledge on the subject. It teaches you. This is another thing I loved. its important to be educated and to understand. A Wonderful Book. Find You In The Dark. Read it.
