Amy's Review:

I am a huge Sawyer Bennett fan! I was super excited when I learned I would be reviewing this book for Novel Grounds.
Charlie is a 17year old part orphan, part juvenile delinquent. She is quick to defend someone in need and often takes the blame. She has a good heart, still healing from the recent loss of her parents. She is a social outcast in ever since of the word and I truly felt emotionally attached to her right from the beginning. Internally she feels a lot of guilt and a bit of uneasiness. Since her parents death she has been able to see faces morph and of course believes she is now part crazy.
Her life soon starts to spiral for a totally different reason. Her high school principal turned friend invites her to meet a friend of his. Soon to find out this "friend" will be transporting her to an alternate universe .. she is skeptical to say the least. Once on the other side she feels at home. There are other kids like her, mentors that welcome her, basically a new world for her to immerse herself in. Enrolling in school to become an annihilated, basically a bad ass whose whole mission is to annihilate the bad guys, seems like the next logical step. Just when she thinks things are falling into place she thrown a few curve balls.
I didn't get a chance to read a synopsis of this book before officially starting to read. I must admit I was not prepared to read a paranormal type of story from Sawyer. This book is such a change from her Off series, but just as interesting :)
I loved the characters in this book, especially Charlie and Emerson. Those girls had my heart. I thought the book kept me very engaged and had me wondering what would happen around every corner. As soon as I started reading the book and found out about the other universe, I felt like I had an idea of where the story was going .. and I did. Forever Young is set up to be the first in a great series and I can not wait to see where this journey takes us.
Book Description: She’s a loner, she likes to fight and, oh yeah...she has the ability to see the demons that lay beneath the faces of ordinary humans. It’s a gift Charlie Wright inherited the night her parents were brutally murdered when she was fourteen years old. Now in her last year of high school, Charlie just can’t seem to keep herself out of trouble. Rather than taking a one-way trip to juvenile detention, Charlie chooses to join a mysterious group called The ForeverLand Alliance And then her life really gets weird. Charlie finds herself magically transported to an alternate universe. In Semper Terra, no one ages, people fly, and one stunningly gorgeous, immortal man manages to capture Charlie’s heart and awaken the adult woman she is becoming. But it’s not all fun and games. For Charlie is training to become an Annihilator, a select group of Semper Terrans who protect mankind from all of those things that go “bump in the night”. It’s only when Charlie finds herself stuck in the middle of a prophecy that could bring about the end of the world that she truly begins to understand the deep sacrifices she will have to make.
