Meg's Review:

Reading this entire novel was like a breath of fresh air. I couldn't get enough of it. Juli found her niche with this novel and it shows in the writing. Ryen. I don't even know where to start with this girl. She is hilarious. The way the book starts just has you in complete stitches. It is like watching a train wreck. She is just such a mess you can't help yourself from laughing a little and getting pulled right into the novel. She's extremely relatable and utterly fascinating. I was hooked. Then enter her life into the mix and this is a story you can't put down. Ryen's life has been a series of hurts and struggles that she powers through. Even when she has an easy way out, this girl powers to make something out of herself, she wants to work for everything. I loved that she has such ethic. Ryen also needs a break. A distraction. So off to find one she goes. A Oh my, is it a lovely #NYDistraction. Enter our Knight in designer armor. Yummy and valiant, exactly what I love in a man. Ryen didn't have insta-love exactly, it was more like Insta-Escape that forces the couples hand. You will see. This novel is a quick read that left me mouth gaping. It is a CH, BUT it doesn't leave you totally hanging, so don't fret. I really enjoyed it and I will give it to Juli, she does a CF with grace. It gave you just enough closure I didn't feel the need to fly across the ocean and bang on her door till I got the next book. Just barely though. I highly recommend this read. It is a light hearted read with some twists you never see coming. Kudos Juli, this is your best work yet.

Synopsis:

My name is Ryen Macek. I’m twenty-eight years old, live in Atlanta, Georgia and live a fairly normal life.

Anyway, like most women, I’ve dated and it’s always turned out badly. Most recently that would be Aaron, who decided to trample on my heart in the form of a woman wearing a sheet. Not that I’m bitter, mind you, but, well, I sort of am.

I decided I needed a distraction. I needed to get away from this city, the men in this city, and just… live for awhile. Helllooooo, New York City. I’d stayed here with my best friend while we went to college, and, lucky for me, she kept our apartment.

In true Ryen fashion, what I’m looking for, I find… but is it more than even I could ask for?

Between the paparazzi, high society events, and mob connections, join me while I find the greatest of distractions.
