This may be my favorite novel from Lisa Renee Jones to date. Thrilling, twisted, exciting, and suspenseful. This novel is pure brilliance. It helps that I LIVE in Denver, so I found the book highly relatable, but even without that, the story she drafts if GREAT.

Shane and Emily. I ADORED them.

Emily is spunky and holds her own. I fell for her quite quickly. I love a heroine that can really take care of herself and does what she needs to do to ensure her survival. That is Emily. She also has her softer side, but don't overlook the fact that she will do whatever she can to protect those she cares about.

CityGirlQuote

Lisa SHINES with her writing and character development in each novel she crafts. I will say that Shane is her most complex character yet IMO. He is dark in some aspects, but shines so brilliantly in others. His passion for what he cares for is unrelenting, while you know he will bend his ideals if it means protecting those he loves.

A Company.A Family. A Drug. A Cartel. A Secret.

A story about a man who will do what it takes to protect what is important to him, while also doing everything he can to save his family's company. But what if that means destroying his family to do it? What if he has to lose the company to protect those he love? And WHAT IS EMILY HIDING?

This novel left me on my toes and with TONS of questions and SO excited for book two. I will be stalking this series until I get the next novel. I can't wait to see where is goes from here. So many possibilities!

POST2 Wall Street meets the Sons of Anarchy in the smoldering, scorching first novel in the explosively sexy new Dirty Money series from New York Times bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones. How bad do you want it? The only man within the Brandon empire with a moral compass, Shane Brandon is ready to take his family's business dealings legitimate. His reckless and ruthless brother, Derek wants to keep Brandon Enterprises cemented in lies, deceit, and corruption. But the harder Shane fights to pull the company back into the light, the darker he has to become. Then he meets Emily Stevens, a woman who not only stirs a voracious sexual need in him, but becomes the only thing anchoring him between good and evil. Emily is consumed by Shane, pushed sexually in ways she never dreamed of, falling deeper into the all-encompassing passion that is this man. She trusts him. He trusts her, but therein lies the danger. Emily has a secret, the very thing that brought her to him in the first place, and that secret that could that destroy them both. POST3
