Meg's Review:

Ah. Harper. You do me right. This novel was phenomenal. I can't stress enough how in love I am with how this novel wrapped up and left you at the end. Harper always knows exactly what to write and when.

Favorite Quote: "Maybe while we're there, we can find a mirror for you to look in and repeat that sh*t you just shoveled at my feet to yourself. Hello? Pot, meet kettle."

Emmy and Locke. I know if you love the CS series as much as I do, you have waited for this novel from the beginning. I have to say I think I found a new favorite man. Maddox was a character that grabbed me from the first time we saw him. He had this cloud of unknown around him and I wanted to know what was behind it. As for Emmy. I had no idea about the secrets our dear Emmy was hiding behind her haunted eyes. She is as broken as Locke is and despite what they both may think, they are each others saviors. Emmy can't cope with what happened to Cooper. She is even more broken then she thought was possible. So she does what she thinks she deserves. She returns to the place where she believes she belongs. She may believe that is where she belongs, but Maddox has other ideas. Locke All our questions got answered and everyone finally got their ending. We got to see all our other favorites form the series all the while diving deeper into the darkness in this couples past. In order to heal we must face the past. This is a lessons both of the characters are striving to learn. This novel ends giving us a small teasers about where Unexpected Fate will take us. I cannot wait for this novel either. Harper continues to work her magic and I continue to get lost in it. A Must Read.

This book right here is amazing!!
I was first introduced to Harper and her writing a year ago. I ran across a blog that was featuring Axel, book one in the Corps Security series, and picked it up on a whim. I fell head over heels in love with the Corp Security boys and have been shamelessly stalking Harper and her books ever since. I definitely recommend reading the entire series in order before diving into Locke.
I have waited with baited breath for this book. Locke has been my greatest dream guy since I met his cagey eyes in Axel. I knew behind his silence and occasional brooding behavior was an amazing individual. That is also exactly why Emmy fell for him a long time ago, too.
Reading about and envisioning the pain that Locke holds inside had me in tears quite a few times throughout this book. Locke grew up in a wonderful home, with a horrible family. Having money and power is a heavy thing for some people to deal with and unfortunately his mother was a monster incapable or unwilling to care for him the way a mother should. Couple his upbringing with the nightmares he has from his time in the service and a very hard Locke was created. I could feel his pain deeply through Harper's words and I love that. Working with all the guys has created a family away from family for Locke.
Sweet Emmy was saved by Coop. Poor girl grew up in another horrible home with a family full of disgusting people that used her and her body for profit. Talk about scum! Thankfully Emmy has a beautiful, giving heart and she is trying her hardest throughout this entire series to break down the walls of Mr. Locke himself. Little did she know he thought she was amazing :)
Two people fighting for the same goal and keeping each other in line is so sexy to read. Pure love and the ability to say what they feel ... that is this book. Character development is one of Harper's strongest attributes IMO. From page one of book one, Locke has developed. Small pieces at a time I fell in love and the pages I just finished reading made me almost drowned in the love pool. A happily every after was always in the cards for this couple and I am so glad I hung with the series long enough see it happen!
Sparks FLY in this book ... I mean I was literally blushing. Harper has a gift of painting a picture with words, lets just say that.
I was so pleased with the way this book flowed. It was absolutely the perfect ending to the Corp Security series and I am so sad it has come to an end. The epilogue was everything I hoped for. Left me wanting more and left me feeling complete all at the same time. After reading the last words I put my Ipad down and cried. They were tears of pure emotion that the series was over and just how perfect it was.
Harper ~ You amazing beast ~ I can not wait to see what you surprise me with next :)

Synopsis:

Darkness is the only thing I see. Ever since the day my life changed. The day that everything and everyone I held close to me ceased to exist. The day I lost it all and the demons of my past consumed my every waking moment. I tried to keep others at arm’s length. Tried not to let my darkness taint them. Ruin them. Harm them. And whether I want to admit it or not, as much as I wish I could keep them locked out, they refuse to leave. Refuse to let me suffer alone. If I hadn’t been so focused on keeping those demons from flying free, I wouldn’t have missed how one perfect angel was able to sneak her way under my skin—refusing to let go. Making me want things I don’t deserve. She consumes me. Her beauty knows no end. The love she promises tempts me every time she’s near. But that pure heart that makes her MY Emmy is the one thing I’m convinced I’ll destroy if I ever let her close. I’m a broken man. A broken man with too much darkness in his soul to ever let her light shine upon me. But even that doesn’t stop me from craving her with every single breath in my body. unnamed
