Midnight Lily by Mia Sheridan

Midnightlily

6 HUGE Shining Stars

This is hands down one of my favorite reads so far of 2016. I can't even seem to find the words to describe this mind boggling novel. It was pure brilliance. Mia Sheridan takes topics that other author would run from, and thrusts them front and center in her novels. Not only does she do this in a way that makes you gain understanding, but she does it in a way that makes you fall in love at the same time. Midnight Lily takes some hard topics. I don't want to say too much because part of this topic and the way it occurs in the novel is how you discover it as you read. Each and every chapter you jump in wondering where it is going to go next. There are most certainly some WHAT THE HECK parts that had me turning back few pages because I was SURE I had read something wrong. I didn't. It was perfection.

"Is she a dream? A ghost? A product of his muddled imagination? Or something entirely different?"

Lily and Holden have a story they need to tell and it all begins with someone Holden isn't even sure is real. I love a good mystery and this had me hooked. It was unique int he way you dove into the book and made for a start that you wouldn't want to put down. Holden has a lot to work out in his life and to do that he needs to get away. With Lily appearing he didn't know if she is real, or something he is making up. We don't really either. All we do know is that Lily is there and she is going to be the reason he gets better. She takes him on an adventure he didn't see coming, and he is determined to get as much of her as he can. For her he will get better. She is worth it. midnightlilyteaser After you hit part two of this novel, everything changes. You will know the spot, because it will leave you mouth agape wondering what just happened. But don't fret, because what is left in store for you rocks your world.

It is a story of being lost, of being found, and of being in the place between.

You Are in that place in this book. The place between. The place in your imagination. Let me tell you though, it is a wonderful place to escape with his book. I just can't say enough about this novel. The way Mia tackles this topic brought real tears to my eyes. I got to the end and had to call the person it made me think of because they needed to know about these words and how this was written. They needed to read this story because it bring so much light to a topic that can be hard to understand. It is something people can strive to relate to, but it is truly unreliable. This novel shows you it in a way that makes you just want to hug someone. It gives you a little more understanding so that when you say you get it, you actually do. Read it. Please. It is brilliant.

Synopsis:

Holden Scott is the prince of professional football. At least he was before he lost it all . . . or more to the point, before he threw it all away. Now he's out of a job, out of the public's good graces, and perhaps just a little out of his mind. So when a friend offers up his remote lodge in the wilds of Colorado, giving Holden some time away to get his life back on track, he can hardly say no. The last thing he expects is to see a beautiful girl in the woods—one wearing a white, lace dress who appears in the moonlight, and leaves no footprints behind. Is she a dream? A ghost? A product of his muddled imagination? Or something entirely different? Midnight Lily is the haunting love story of two lost souls reaching for each other in the dark. A tale of healing, acceptance, and the worlds we create to protect our own hearts. It is a story of being lost, of being found, and of being in the place between. THIS IS A STAND-ALONE SIGN OF LOVE NOVEL, INSPIRED BY VIRGO. Non-Paranormal, New Adult Contemporary Romance: Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.
