I have had this series on my TBR FOREVER. I finally cut out some time to jump into it and I am SO glad that I did. JLA grabbed me from the very start! The plot has a Roswell mixed with , well something. Amazing-ness. That is what it is mixed with. It is a series all its own in a book world filled with so many novels that have such similarity. I adored this novel. It was fast paced and hot, while on the flip side it was full of emotion and extremely well-developed and written. That is the type of novel that I just fall in love with. The characters in this novel were epic. I know, an odd word to describe them, but they were. The minute you meet them you fall for them. Katy is pure awesome. I loved the fast that she was a blogger and reviewer. I thought it was so much fun! It added a special relatable trait to her. Top that with her fantastic personality and stubbornness and I couldn't turn away. Daemon was fantastic. I love a brooding guy, and I love a guy that is brooding as a result of utter devotion to his family even more. I was hooked line and sinker. The chemistry in this book was as palpable as the action. I wasn't sure what the next page would bring. I jumped into this novel without refreshing myself on what it was about, so as things came out I was in complete shock. It was a really fun read. I can't wait to jump into the second one and see where we are going next!

Starting over sucks. When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up. And then he opened his mouth. Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something... unexpected happens. The hot alien living next door marks me. You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades. If I don't kill him first, that is.
