I Loved Off Sides so I jumped at the opportunity to read Emily's story. Sawyer Bennet blew me away with her first book. You can see my review here. This book follows Emily, Ryan's younger sister and her journey to finding herself as Ryan did in the first book. Two years ago Emily's life changed. She met Danny and gave her a chances and her life did a 360. She didn't like who she was so she changed it. She left for college, went on adventures, and set off to try new things. Without her mother breathing down her neck (as much) she was living a life she was happy with. Until life decided that she needed to take more of a risk in the Love department. So life threw Nix in her path, quite literally. Boom, Crash, Bang and Emily and Nix are going to be seeing a lot of each other. Nix is your HOT veteran Marine just living a quiet life in his Metal working shop. Slowly rebuilding his life since his return he is starting over just as Emily is. The last thing he believes he needs is Emily, but he can't seem to resist her. Since she now owes him some money for wrecking his car with her horrible driving, she comes to work for him to pay it off. Working in close proximity works about as well as you would expect it. With Nix and Emily the bumps on their ride are rough on both ends. Emily has the family drama with a side of Stalker ex's and Nix has his own dark past that he is still dealing with. They have things to work through and it is a great journey to watch them do it. I couldn't put this book down. It had me reading page after page engulfed in the characters and the story itself. You get deep into who they are and what the are going through. Just like the first book, I just couldn't get enough of Sawyer's Writing. You are enthralled with these two and their angsty romance. This was a story about finding yourself. A story about finding that person that you can be yourself with. Completely. It was a 5 star read for sure. Add it to your list. The top of it.
