My Review:

I got this book as a Freebie a while back on Amazon and it blew me away. I wish I had found it before now. It was a fast paced wrong side of the tracks love story. I really love these types of stories. First we meet Ryan. Captain of the Hockey team at Northwestern, gorgeous, and a trust fund kid. Danny is a Juilliard dropout with purple hair and facial piercings, and she is gorgeous. A total Knockout. She doesn't fit into his world any more than he does hers, but it is undeniable there is an instant attraction. There is something there worth pursuing and they both want it. I loved everything about this story. The author worked wonders with switching POV between the two characters. I always appreciate this because I feel as though you gain such a deeper understanding of the characters and the book. This book is a love story and a story of fighting for what you want. Be it Love or a Life. Danny and Ryan fight for what they want and it is a slightly bumpy ride. It may not be a very complicated love story but it is a wonderful one. But not a bad ride for them. Though they battle evil mothers, crazy exes, money problems, and doubts, they fight the hardest they can. Even though Danny has had a hard life she is still a very likable heroine. She isn't a pushover type of character, she is in your face polite when people are trying to get a rise out of her and its hilarious. You love her instantly. The same goes for Ryan. He is your hero in this story. He is kind and lovable. He is also loyal to what he wants, and that is Danny. This was a great book overall. It was on the shorter side, but it was a great story. Maybe slightly predictable, but as with most romances they are. It wasn't a cliffhanger or anything like that. You are satisfied with the book as it is. I really look forward to reading the next one in the series that follows Andy's Sister. I am sure it will leave me with the warm and fuzzy heart that this book did. A great read no matter when you read it :D

“I'm not sure what possessed me to do it. Maybe it was the impossible expectations I faced, maybe it was my own self-loathing. But I just knew I needed something different to happen. I needed derail me from my current path. Otherwise, I would become lost...a hollowed out shell of a man. So I did it. I approached her, then I pursued her, then I made her mine. And my life was saved...” Ryan Burnham is the privileged son of a U.S. Congressman and captain of his university’s hockey team.
