The sparks of dislike burn hot, but the sparks of mutual attraction burn even hotter.
Ever Montgomery suffered the ultimate betrayal by the one man who she should have been able to count on for anything. It has left her hurt, jaded and incapable of forming relationships, but it also means that she can spot a liar a mile away. These traits are earning her a reputation as a reporter with a keen nose for a good story and a complete understanding of the extreme power of the written word.
Lincoln Caldwell, is the hot goalie for the New York Rangers. At twenty-four and a rising star, he works hard and he plays even harder. He’s gorgeous and carefree—the ultimate charmer. Ladies fall at his feet and the single life has never been lived the way Linc Caldwell does it.
When Ever publishes an article about Linc containing information that she received off the record, she finds herself on the receiving end of the athlete’s fury. Rather than basking in the glory of exposing Linc as a shameless user of women, she finds herself at his mercy when he demands and receives retribution. Required by her editor to trail Linc for six weeks, Ever is forced to look at the real Linc Caldwell.
And she just might find that she has misjudged him.
Oh My. Now I really didn't think I could possibly like Linc more than his brother from book #2. But I did. Yep it happened from that first chapter on. Linc and Ever <3 Loved their story and I can't wait to tell you why!
This book Follows Linc and Ever's story. Their Off The Record story that is. We all know that not everything you read is true. So its best we get it right from the source. That my friends is what Ever Montgomery is about to get a lesson in. Linc is a wonderful, compassionate, loving, caring, selfless man. This is the lesson Ever needs, and Linc has no trouble giving it to her.
Ever has had a life of hurt. You get this piece by piece, but all in all the men in her life have not been the greatest to her in the Love department. She has some series problems with Love and abandonment issues. She is untrusting and sees the worst in guys from the start. You will see that THAT trait gets her into a world of trouble. Well, trouble in her opinion. I would not think twice about switching places with her.
This book was great, admittedly, book one is still my favorite, and book two blew me away, but this book was special all in its own. I feel its unfair to really compare them though, because they deal with very different problems in the scope of peoples lives. So in my book they are all 5 star reads. We have a great story line and it keeps you reading till the end. I will give you a heads up that I totally cried during part of this book. You will see. Me heart just melted. I really Really good read though. Enjoy!
