Promise of Darkness by Bec McMaster

This book was AMAZING. I needed an escape, and this book took me and threw me into it. This one absolutely did that. It threw me into this fantastical world and I didn't want to leave.

Not only as the world amazing, but the characters endeared themselves to me. They were funny and a family and I fell for each of them. This is the type of squad I love and I swear it is the best kind in fantasy, these authors just do it right and this one was amazing. But the plot. This book threw so many twists at me I got dizzy. I swear I spent half the book yelling at the Prince, and the other half, our princess. They both made some terrible life choices but in the end I was all about them and rooting for them. You know me, I always root for the happy ending. Now, I NEED THE NEXT BOOK, STAT. Just sayin.
