I enjoyed this novel as much as the first, if not more. I was a big fan of Jake in the first one and he cemented my love for him in book two. This book is wonderfully written and drags you into this exciting and adventure filled world. The characters are just as well-developed and very lovable. I ADORED getting to meet in infamous Child that we were so excited about in the first book. Even though its only been a few years, Janel and Jake's child is 13. Janel has been kidnapped and far, far worse. But she is Janel and she will fight till the end. Jake wants to save her, but still doesn't really know what he feels. I went back and forth with him in this book. Add in running for their lives and fighting their emotions at all costs and you have the makings of a great book.
Fans of the first book will love this novel and its story. We are left with a sneak of the third book. Just a tease though, so read at your own risk. I look forward to the next novel in this series. I really enjoyed reading it. As a reader that doesn't read much Sci-Fi Fantasy type books, I would recommend it highly.
