Favorite Quote: “It's rooted in my blood to consume you and be consumed by you. To protect you. To please you, in every way. To make you shiver when I touch you. To cause your heart to beat faster.”

This is one of those books that stays with you well after you are done reading. It was a fast paced and wonderful novel that had you on your toes chapter after chapter. I am thankful that I found it after the series had a few books out, because it wouldn't have been a pretty site if I didn't have book two to jump into! I am one of those readers who is NOT a fan of Insta-Love. Not at all. Unlike some readers though, I don't consider this novel in that way. One of the main things you deal with in this novel is Imprinting. I loved that it took something readers typically dislike and turned it into something I absolutely LOVED. SignificanceTeaser Caleb. I absolutely LOVED Caleb. He is one of those Book Boyfriend that you really just can't help but fall in love with. He is loyal, gorgeous, and has a personality to die for. I really have no qualms about him in this novel. Sometimes it is really refreshing to have a hero that you love without him having any pesky irritating things about him. He loves Maggie with no holds. From that moment forward she is his life and it is a wonder to read. Not even taking the immense amount of love between the characters into consideration, this is a very intense novel. All the chaos that is happening around Maggie and Caleb keeps you on your toes. You know that their love will conquer, but you can't help but be sucked into the novel. You have this overwhelming want to read more and more about them. Their story unfolds very slowly for you, but it paced in a way that feel natural. I am raving a little. It is that kind of novel. Wrapping your head around ti does this to you, you'll see. Not all the novel is love and romance as I said. It is filled with mystery and action. Don't fret. You want to be sure whats coming next, but you will know that you HAVE to keep going. Its compelling. It is a romance with magical/paranormal twists that even a non PN fan will fall in love with. Just you wait and see. The love in this novel is all-encompassing. This is one of those books that gives you that sweet ache in your chest while you are reading it, and the next page has you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens. When you meet Maggie and Caleb you will understand what I am talking about. This novel has such struggles while being filled with such immense love. A Must Read.

Synopsis:

Maggie is a seventeen year old girl who's had a bad year. She was smart and on track, but then her mom left, her dad is depressed, she's graduating - barely - and her boyfriend of almost three years dumped her for a college football scholarship. Lately she thinks life is all about hanging on by a thread and is gripping tight with everything she has. Then she saves the life of Caleb and instantly knows there's something about him that's intriguing. But things change when they touch, sparks ignite. Literally. They imprint with each other and she sees their future life together flash before her eyes. She learns that not only is she his soul mate, and can feel his heartbeat in her chest, but there is a whole other world of people with gifts and abilities that she never knew existed. She herself is experiencing supernatural changes unlike anything she's ever felt before and she needs the touch of his skin to survive. Now, not only has her dad come out of his depression to be a father again, and a pain as well, but Caleb's enemies know he's imprinted and are after Maggie to stop them both from gaining their abilities and take her from him. Can Caleb save her or will they be forced to live without each other after just finding one another?
