I can't get this book out of my head. It is rocking my entire world. I blame this on Cora Carmack and her urging to read this series. I don't know how I will recover from it. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have book two.
This novel was mind-blowing. Please don't let the cover dissuade you. I will be the first to admit I am a cover snob. I feel like that is something terrible to admit, be we all have our faults. The cover isn't bad by any means, just not what is currently big in the book world. The content of this novel is unsurpassed in my opinion. It takes your ideals of a high fantasy and throws them out the window. This novel rocks all of your senses while you read and leaves you yearning to jump into its pages.
Ellysetta and Rain don't have a great start. You are thrown into his novel with a race on the brink of extinction and the prediction of how it can be saved. From there, things just get better. Who doesn't love an end of the world type of read?
Ellysetta is Rain mate and nothing mystical of human will change that. Except maybe her hesitation to jump into a world that has hunted her since childhood. Throw in the ancient evil trying to break them both, as well as the magic that is making itself even more known and things got wild fast.
I LOVED rain something fierce. He is hands down my favorite book love this year without a doubt. He is strong and rugged, while at the sometime a king that commands respect. He has it soft and endearing side, but is fiercely protective of what is his. He adapted to the station as it deemed and love with a ferocity that some women only dream of.
Then we have Ellysetta. Brave and strong, while also niece to part of the world around her, and what she si truly capable of. She loves with an equal ferocity, but loves with all of herself. She was a force to read.
They have their work cut out for them. I couldn't put this story down. From the beautiful world crafted, to the plot that keep you on pins and needles to the very last page, this novel does NOT let down.
It might be my top read of 2016 and it is only Feb! On to book two. I can't wait to see where we go next!
