I can't breathe. I need the next novel NOW. I don't know if I can't wait months. I know realistically that I HAVE to wait, but I really don't want to. This novel was chaos and lots of things coming to fruit. I couldn't put it down.

Once I finished it I just sat there for 20 minutes trying to figure out what just happened. Heart- Crushed. I don't even know how to process. This book was fantastic.

We travel with our fearless friends and even grab some stragglers along the way. With everyone up in arms, it was pure adrenaline to read. Throw in more secrets and a plethora of answers we didn't know we needed, and I couldn't look away.

Thankfully this was a road trip read for me, because otherwise I would have been useless. There were so many twists and turns that every time I decided I was going to stop for a break, I had to keep going because surely if I stopped something epic was around the corner.

Cyrene has a path laid out before her and even if she can't see all the steps on the way she knows in her heart what she must do.

This book was thrilling page after page. Fantasy lovers everywhere, be ready for your new addiction.

Synopsis:

Cyrene Strohm is a Queen’s Affiliate, a high-ranking official of the court of Byern, with power and privilege to spare. But she’s also a keeper of dangerous secrets: like the fact that she holds the heart of the King, and that she possesses magic in a world where magic no longer exists. Determined to discover what this means and how to use her newfound abilities, Cyrene sets off for the distant land of Eleysia. An island nation where Affiliates are strictly forbidden from entering. But the journey is perilous, and the destination may mean utter ruin, as Cyrene comes to learn that everything she’s been told her whole life – about her court, her homeland, and even herself—are bound in a beautiful lie.
