Review from Lori (Ficwishes) our newest team member:
I absolutely loved The Bromance Book Club.
Major League Baseball player, Gavin Scott is at a loss. His wife has asked for a divorce and Gavin cannot begin to figure out how to save the marriage he so desperately wants. When he turns to his team mates for help, he never expects them to hand him a Regency Romance novel as a how-to manual.
This book was just exactly what I needed. The characters were perfectly formed and I loved everyone from Gavin and Thea to their twin girls and even Rachel, who makes Thea's life miserable. They way the club supports each other definitely demonstrates the saying 'Friends are the family you choose.'
I love that Gavin had screwed up and needed to make amends. It was awesome watching him stumble get right back up to keep pursuing his wife. It was so romantic seeing him court his wife anew. Gavin's seduction of Thea is the stuff great romance novels are made of.
I really loved that Thea realized that it wasn't only Gavin that needed to do some atoning. There was a saying in the book, 'the backstory is everything'. Both Gavin and Thea had to dive into their respective backstories to uncover why they act and respond the way they do. These characters change and grow and encourage one another to become better versions of themselves. We could all stand to have friends like these.
