LOVED this book! I got the chance to go hear Richelle speak about it last week and it got me even more excited for it. She created a whole new world, sans magic, to fall in love with and I have to say it was just as magical in its own way.
Richelle dazzles us with The Glittering Court. A novel full of deceit, lies, ball gowns, and marriage contracts. I couldn't get enough of it. I loved meeting each of the girls and getting to know their unique personalities. She gives us strong and sassy as we have come to expect from her and she does so in a completely different way than we know. It was a unique presentation that was completely relatable and had ma falling hard for the heroines. This might be my new favorite novel from Richelle.
Adelaide is looking for love. Well, she is looking for ANYTHING better than the life she is running from. For some, her old life in their dream, but for her, having any choice in who she marries is enough of an adventure for her. She just wants to have a voice in her future and so she takes things into her own hands.
This story was great. The dresses, the life, the adventure and especially the angst. I adored it.

Cedric was wonderful as well. I loved him from the start, and once we really got to start seeing more of him I was hooked. Throw in some jealousy and other suitors once we travel to the new world, and he just got that much more desirable.
A story filled with secrets and secret agendas. Adventure and true love. You don't want it to end. I can't wait to read the other girl's stories in the next two novels.

Big and sweeping, spanning from the refined palaces of Osfrid to the gold dust and untamed forests of Adoria,
The Glittering Court tells the story of Adelaide, an Osfridian countess who poses as her servant to escape an arranged marriage and start a new life in Adoria, the New World. But to do that, she must join the Glittering Court.
Both a school and a business venture, the Glittering Court is designed to transform impoverished girls into upper-class ladies who appear destined for powerful and wealthy marriages in the New World. Adelaide naturally excels in her training, and even makes a few friends: the fiery former laundress Tamsin and the beautiful Sirminican refugee Mira. She manages to keep her true identity hidden from all but one: the intriguing Cedric Thorn, son of the wealthy proprietor of the Glittering Court.
When Adelaide discovers that Cedric is hiding a dangerous secret of his own, together they hatch a scheme to make the best of Adelaide’s deception. Complications soon arise—first as they cross the treacherous seas from Osfrid to Adoria, and then when Adelaide catches the attention of a powerful governor.
But no complication will prove quite as daunting as the potent attraction simmering between Adelaide and Cedric. An attraction that, if acted on, would scandalize the Glittering Court and make them both outcasts in wild, vastly uncharted lands…

Richelle and I at the book signing in Castle Rock, Colorado.
