I will start by saying that I did not read the first book in this series and you don't really need to. That being said, I think I WANT to go and read it. I feel like it would build more of the story for you.
This was overall a great read. Jenny has great standing to build upon and the series could go places. It's a great paranormal read that spiked my interest enough that I found myself wanting to know where it was going. The author has great character development and the setting of the story was great. I enjoyed the peeks of Scotland that we got.
I love a good chasing tale like this one, a good tale of one person fighting for another. This was exactly that. Throw in the hidden pasts and secrets that had to come to light, and it was overall a good read.
I will be interested to see where Jenny takes the series next.
Synopsis:
In Children of the Mist, we discovered the secret history of the Children. Now, in the wilds of Scotland, one of them has come of age…
Megan MacGregor has lived her life off the grid, in complete secrecy. Now she’s all grown up, and needs what every female werewolf before her has needed: a mate.
Tracking one down in the lonely wilds of Argyll will be no easy task, but Megan is no ordinary woman. When she finds Sean Duncan, she’ll do anything to keep him. But Sean has secrets and a past of his own, and Megan might get more than she bargained for in a mate.
