My Review

This is another FANTASTIC book from Sarra Cannon. I was a HUGE fan of hers going into this as I Loved Beautiful Demons so I expected the best from her. She delivered. This is not a paranormal as we have seen in the past from her, this is a story of love and facing our demons. Emotional ones that is. Leigh Ann's demons are following her and hurting her every step of the way inh er recovery and escape. In returning home she is trying to start over, but as we all know demons are something she has to come to terms with. Leigh Ann is heading home to spend her college break back in her small town. The town she couldn't wait to get out of. Because of reasons you come to discover as the story unfolds, Leigh Ann isn't just home to visit, she is home to escape. College can be rough for anyone, as as we experience in this book it is far harder for some than others. Her first night home Leigh Ann is in need of some help. Enter Heroic Knox. Let me just warn you he is *That Guy* The super sweet, honest, just flipping hot guys. I was crossing my fingers he stayed in this story because I was hooked from his first appearance. The characters in this story are ones easily relatable and easily pictures when reading. I have always found this With Sarra's writing and she pulled out all the stops with Leigh Ann. You get into her head in every chapter. It really gives you a deeper picture of who she is and what she has been through. The same goes for some of the other characters. Even though they are not "Main" you still get very great pictures in your head of them. The writing does it all for you. Its wonderful. This story is fantastic. It is not only a Love story. It is a journey. The book touches on some sensitive subjects but they are wonderfully handled. Its heart breaking and empowering all at the same time. A MUST read for 2013. Well For anytime :D Get to it guys!

Synopsis

One night can change everything… Two years ago, Leigh Anne Davis shocked everyone in tiny Fairhope, Georgia when she broke up with her wealthy boyfriend to attend an Ivy League university a thousand miles away. At school, she finds a happiness and independence she’s never known. Until one terrifying night takes it all away from her. With no place else to go, Leigh Anne heads home to reclaim her old life. A life she worked so hard to escape. On the outside, she seems like the same girl everyone has always known. But deep inside, she’s hiding a terrible secret. That’s when she meets Knox Warner, a troubled newcomer to Fairhope. His eyes have the same haunted look she sees every day in the mirror, and when she’s near him, the rest of the world fades away. But being with Knox would mean disappointing everyone all over again. If she wants to save what’s left of her old life, she has no choice but to say goodbye to him forever. Only, the trouble with goodbye is that sometimes it’s about courage and sometimes it’s about fear. And sometimes you’re too broken to know the difference until it’s too late.
