Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

I can't believe I waited so long to read this novel. I have had it for a while, but it finally took a bunch of people telling me how great it was to read it. I feel like I should go in the shame corner because this book should have topped my list!

“We all bear scars,... Mine just happen to be more visible than most.”

I don't even know where to start. This novel was constant "On The Edge Of My Seat" from start to finish. It is one of those books that you are thinking about well after you have put the book down. I sadly had to read this over the course of a few days and that in itself was torture. This novel is like an addiction. You are compelled to turn the pages chapter after chapter dying to know what is coming next. Celaena is an absolutely fantastic main character. She has survived against all odds and is a woman to be feared. Despite her young age, she has faced death day after day. This novel is all about survival. I loved every single page of it. You end up feeling like she is your best friend at the end of the read. The author has a talent for showing you every side of the character without making it seem like a doling task to get to know them. It is a natural progression thought the story, like that of a real friendship. We see her at the top of her game and at her worst. All of the characters in this novel are really great. From our leading heroine, to the main men. They are the starts of this epic high fantasy read. A story about facing our pasts and fighting for what we know in our hearts to be right. This is a novel about facing your fears. While our characters all start out fighting for one thing at the start of this novel, by the end they are fighting for something entirely different. Secrets, lies, and hidden agendas spur this novel into high gear. Before you read this novel I suggest you buy the rest of the series that is so far published. You wont be able to not read the rest of it. I am warning you of the immense addiction you will soon have in your hands or on your e-reader!
