Belated sharing this on here, but weeks later it is still sticking with me. I shouted fort he rooftops about the emotional amazingness that is this author but it needs to be chatted about again.
This is book three in this series and it was amazing. Tattered and Timid killed me and I knew that this one was going to be exactly the same.
This story was Kaine and Piper and by goodness there were a doozy. The name was so completely fitting for this read. I knew that it was going to be a story that had me healing but I also knew that it was going to take bit to get there. Devney has such a talent with incorporating her characters and their feelings into your life that you are unable to turn away once you start.
When these character hurt, you hurt. And when they heal? Let the healing begin. I knew that Kaine was going to be a doozy, I know I already said that, I domed repeating, and truly I knew Piper would be as well, the title literally tells you that. But really, this book was amazing. We got everything I didn't know we needed and through all the healing we got the love story I was DYING to get.
If you wan an emotional love story that grips you page after page and chapter after chapter with compelling characters and a plot that you just fall into, here ya go.
Synopsis:
Kaine Reynolds wants nothing more than solitude. After an unthinkable tragedy destroys his family, he’s cut off all ties to his former life so he can battle his grief the only way he knows how.
Alone.
So when Piper Campbell knocks on his door, rambling on about being his new neighbor, he slams the door in her face.
But Kaine’s gruff demeanor doesn’t scare her. She’s set on living in Montana and starting over after a terrible divorce. And she wouldn’t mind having a fling to chase away the pain of her husband’s betrayal. Her handsome, albeit rude, neighbor is the perfect candidate.
Yet what neither of them suspect is that their no-strings affair will result in the surprise of Piper’s lifetime—and Kaine’s worst fear.
