Amy's Review:

The Corp Security series finale hit me in the gut last year ... I literally cried. The thought of not having any more novel staring Axel, Cage, Cooper, etc just killed me. To say I was thrilled when Harper announced she would be writing tales of the next generation would be a major understatement.
Cohen Cage stole my heart in Uncaged. His curiosity, humor and love for his mama reminded me of my own son. I knew then he would be something super special, I had a feeling he would be a Marine and I was damn sure he would be handsome!
Dani Reid ... what can I say. Beautiful like her mother, strong like her father. She felt so real to me. Crushing on the hottie Cohen Cage, and who can blame her. Problem was ... the Corp Security guys. I knew they would be of some trouble, I mean who would want to make Axel Reid mad?
Both Dani and Cohen had such amazing back stories. One a recent college graduate, lots of friends, dateless because of an over protective dad. One a Marine, a major mamas boy, a family man period. To me, they were made for each other. A few times a long the way I thought "oh no, will it happen" but knowing Harper, I knew there would be a happily ever after. In true Harper form there were many plot twist and crazy turns. There was heart ache, there was questioning friends, there was concerned parents, there was LIFE. One amazing thing about all of Harper's novels is the feeling of real life. The feeling that this could really happen. These people, they are my people. This could be my twisted life, too.

Synopsis:

Have you ever felt like you were living your life for a future that was predetermined? Like there was some bigger picture you just prayed you would someday see clearly? That picture has been crystal clear to me since I was old enough to recognize it for just what it was. Or I should say recognize him for who he was. I’ve loved Cohen Cage since I was a small child. He’s been my everything for the last twenty-two years. I’ve loved him through every girlfriend he’s ever brought home. Through his college years and then mine. I’ve loved him through two deployments. And ever since the day I told him how I felt, he’s acted like I’m a stranger. My name is Danielle Reid, and it’s time for me to get my man. Our future is an unexpected fate, and no matter what our parents, siblings, and friends say…it’s going to be worth every second of the fight to make it happen.
