Novel Grounds is an East Coast Romance Bookstore destination! We began as a licensed book merchandise company and have expanded over the last 3 years to the brick and mortar location that our customers know and love. From shopping, to books clubs, to author events, we strive for inclusivity and enjoyment. 

We are a 100% romance bookstore that caters to our niche clientele. We have a very excited customer base and do a variety of non author events from craft nights, yoga events, and book clubs.

The books we carry in our store, are books that we are passionate about. There is a romance book for everyone and my staff is ready to help every customer that comes through our door find theirs. Our knowledge of what we carry helps us stand apart from other bookstores. We know the tropes, we've read the books, and we can help you find exactly the book you didn't know you needed.

We are located in Chesapeake in the Hampton Roads metro area of Virginia. We are 20 minutes from the international airport (ORF), and directly off of I-95. Easy access and ample parking is available. We are the perfect location for and range of author events, and the ideal stop on a mid-atlantic tour!

We comfortably fit 80 for a sit down event with space for walk-ins and shopping. The store is 1700 sqft and fully ADA accessible. We partner with the library 3 blocks down the road for events ranging 150-200 and the community college directly across the street for our larger 200 attendee events.

We work with a wide range of local conversation partners and are always looking to have authors pop into the store!
